history
Angola was originally occupied by the Khoi and San tribes. They were them taken over by the Bantu people who set up what can be described as small political outlets across the country. Portugal discovered Angola in 1484 and took over the country shortly after. Portugal ran the country for the next 500 years with minor revolutions springing up infrequently. In 1961, after increasing tension between the natives and the portuguese , the Angolan War for Independence started. The war was fought for thirteen years, and while even though the Portuguese were outnumbered, they inflicted heavy losses on the natives. After a coup in 1974, all Portuguese aggression stopped and Angola was a free nation.
