history of Namibia
- Namibia, like all of the other the countries discussed, was originally inhabited by various tribes
- By the early 1800's, Boar Africans who believed in Calvinism and considered themselves more white than black settled in the country, and eventually made up the majority of the population
- By the mid 1800s, Namibia had been overrun by Otto Bismarck and the German army in the scramble for Africa
- During the first world war namibia was transferred over to South Africa, who itself was a commonwealth of Britain
- In 1990, Namibia gained its independence after a joint force of U.S, British, South African, and German officials decided on what was to become of the country
- In March of 2015, Namibia'a president Hifikepunye Pohamba was awarded the five million dollar Mo Ibrahim prize for African leadership. The award was given to him because of the raises in living standards that occurred under his control.

- however, becuase of its European roots, Namibia has a very strong and healthy economy

- Because of missionaries in the 17th centery, people in Namibia still dress in a somewhat victorian fashion, with women wearing long dresses, even though it is extremely hot
- Although music is very popular in Namibia, they have never produced a record in the country
- They prefer folk music that contains the xylophone or modern day reggae and pop
